The International Maritime Academy is dedicated to improvement of seafaring in Bangladesh. With an abundance of literate but unemployed youths, it is my vision to make use of our capabilities to enhance and progress seafaring and make available the skills and knowledge locally available to those who want to serve at sea.

To achieve our objectives, we have employed the best instructors available in the country and have provided permanent campus for the academy. Gradually, but surely, we would like to achieve greater global recognition for maritime training in Bangladesh.

Our vision is to double the number of existing marine officers and ratings in the international market within a decade as marine profession would play a leading role in poverty alleviation of this country. International Maritime Academy (IMA) centers for maritime education, training and research and is a highly regarded maritime training academy in Bangladesh and overseas. Many renowned shipping companies have officially authorized IMA for their seafarers training purpose. The concept behind the establishment was to provide world-class training to seafarers and to meet the ever increasing requirement of the industry. Proper training scheme and investment is crucial to success and underscores our sincerity to maintain high standards set by its founding board members. Improving the human factor in ship operation was a key objective and the establishment of IMA constituted an important element of this challenge.
